Abu Dhabi GP: Lewis Hamilton Ends Season With Eleventh Race Win In Yas Marina


Lewis Hamilton has already clinched the season championship title for the sixth and wrapping up the season with his 84th race win on Sunday at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Ahead of the race, nearly all the drivers felt relax knowing whatever the outcomes are today, it will not  change their standings that much. Even if there are, that will not bring them closer to the title, rather it is time for a long break until March next year in Melbourne, Australia. 

Whilst Sebastian Vettel missed out making a podium position, Hamilton won the race for his 11th of the season in 1:34:05.715 followed by Red Bull's Max Verstappen in the second position and Charles Leclerc claimed the third place. 

"I am proud and super grateful to this team, thank you to everybody here and back home. This car is a work of art," said Hamilton.  

In retrospect, it was a sensational season for the Monegasque, Charles Leclerc and team leader Sebastian Vettel. Mercedes really faced a true test of pace from Ferrari whose driver, Leclerc, claimed a hat-trick for pole position and won two consecutive races with a flash of stunning brilliance and dominance. 

Mercedes also had an excellence start to the winning five successive race with a one-two finish until that streak got snapped in Monaco and reclaimed again in France. At this time, Ferarri had come up in pace and became a massive threat to Mercedes championship title race - for both Hamilton and the team constructors. 

In the end, both Hamilton and his constructors finished the season winning the championship titles - six consecutive for Merdece constructors and sixth career title for the Briton.
