Unai Emery Urges Arsenal Fans To "Connect" With Him

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has called out to the club's fans to once again give him the necessary support needed to lead the team in his troubled times at the club.

The Spaniard is under heavy criticism from the club's fans for his team's winless run that has endured through five league games. They could not deny the frustrations with him during the club's 2-2 draw with Southampton on Sunday and booed him off at the end of the game.

It is no doubt that Emery's days at Emirates Stadium are numbered if there are no improvements in their performance and even him is not denying that but believes things can change if both parties "reconnect".

"My focus is to show a good performance and connect with our supporters," he said ahead of their home game against Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday.

"First we need to connect with them and show them. My wish is the supporters help the team because we need them. I want to connect with them."

Before Jose Mourinho was hired by Tottenham, there were speculations about the Portuguese being considered to replace Emery. Even now, there are yet rumours that Mauricio Pocchettino who was sacked at Spurs might be hired if Emery was sacked.

However, Emery is not harbouring any fears of losing the job but he wants to focus on delivering as he said: "I'm not thinking about my personal future. This is not about me, everyone in the dressing room."

"If the coach is under pressure the players are under pressure. We stick together, fight for each other. The boys in the dressing room, the coaching staff, we are all in the same boat."
