Thierry Henry Appointed New Head Coach Of Montreal Impact
Thierry Henry has found a new football club to continue his coaching career with and signed to a two-year contract to the United States MLS side, Montreal Impact.
The Frenchman, 42, started his coaching career as the assistant head coach of the Belgium national team which finished third in the 2018 Fifa World Cup in Russia.
Afterward, he succeeded Leonardo Jardim at AS Monaco as the new manager, unfortunately, it was an unsuccessful spell and was sacked three months later following a poor performance of the team that landed club in the 19th position under his watch.
"It's an honour to coach the Montreal Impact and return to MLS," the former Arsenal striker said on his appointment. "It's a league I know well, in which I had some very nice moments."
Henry spent four seasons in the American soccer league at the New York Red Bulls, which he joined from Barcelona, where he won the Champions League (2008-09) and two league titles.
"We are extremely happy to announce the nomination of this legend of the game," says the club's president and CEO, Kevin Gilmore. "He is a competitor and a leader who has proven himself at the highest level throughout his career."
