Taylor Swift Ban From Performing Old Songs At AMAs, In Netflix Documentary

Taylor Swift's fans are going to have to manage with the songs she can get perform at the oncoming American Music Awards following claims that she has been banned from performing her old songs at the ceremony.

Swift used to own Big Machine Label Group which produced her old songs but since she sold the label to two music executives Scooter Braun and Scott Borchetta, all the hit songs are no longer under her authority and the new owners don't want to see her perform any of them either.

The 'Bad Blood' singer expressed her frustration in a lengthy statement to her social media pages over not having to perform those hits her fans love the most at the AMAs and a Netflix documentary that could not be released because it featured some of the old songs under restrictions.

"I've been planning to perform a medley of my hits throughout the decade on the show," She said on the invitation to perform at the AMAs. "Scott Borchetta and Scooter Braun have now said that I'm not allowed to perform my old song on television because they claim that would be re-recording my music before I'm allowed to next year."

Swift left her label last year to sign to Universal Music Group and according to Billboard, she later sold the label to the music executives, Bruan and Borchetta, in June this year in a deal that was to the tune of $300 million.

She described her former label new owners as those seeking "tyrannical control" and have no idea of the relationship she has built with her loyal fans over the years nor made any contributions to the writing of the songs

She added in the three-page statement, "I'm hoping that maybe they can talk some sense into the men who are exercising tyrannical control over someone who just wants to play the music she wrote."

Definitely, she will not be performing any of those old songs at the 2019 AMAs scheduled to be hosted at the Microsoft Theatre on 24 November.
