Rolex Paris Masters: Novak Djokovic Routs Stefanos Tsitsipas To Reach Semi-finals


Stefanos Tsitsipas was no match for Novak Djokovic and was knocked out in straight sets, 6-1 6-2 by the top-seeded player who is bidding for his fifth title of the season.

The four-time champion took an early break in the opener and eased for a set advantage over the Greek player. The decider was yet another ease for Djokovic and taking a 5-1 break and wrapped the match up after Tsitsipas had moved a game up 5-2 with a backhand slice that the Greek netted on return.

Djokovic was beaten in Shanghai Masters by Tsitsipas in the quarter-finals to improve 2-1 in head-to-head ATP FedEx series but the Serb leveled 2-2 up after knocking him out of Paris Masters, extending his ATP Masters 1000 victory to 35.

Already, the world no. 1 has won a Masters 1000 title this season in Madrid, he stands the chances to extend his ATP Masters titles to 34 but might have to face world no. 2 Rafael Nadal en route his title campaign.

In the semi-final, he will face Bulgarian veteran Grigor Dimitrov on their tenth ATP FedEx series which Djokovic is in the leads by 8-1.
