Qantas Wants Will.i.am To Retract Racism Accusations Or Face Being Sued
Australia airline, Qantas, has responded to racism claims made by Will.i.am against flight attendants last weekend and threatens to support the cabin member should she wants to file a lawsuit.
The Black Eyed Peas rapper alleged he was being racially abused by the airline staff onboard from Brisbane to Sydney, all because he was wearing headphones when a public announcement was being made. He argued he complied with instructions when asked to take off the electronic gear but she called 5 police on him to be arrested on arriving at their destination.
"I don't want to believe she (is) racist," Will.i.am wrote in a tweeted message who thinks he was being victimized. "I did comply quickly and politely only to be greeted by the police."
Responding to claims made by the rapper and Voice host, it urged him to retract the claim or face being challenged at the court if its staff wants to press against him.
"Absent a retraction, and if the crew member wanted to take the matter further, we'd certainly be willing to provide legal support for them to do this," says the airline's spokesperson.
