Premier League: Chelsea Move Up To Second In Table After Beating Crystal Palace
Chelsea have leapfrogged to second in the league table - a position that has eluded Blues for two season - after winning their sixth consecutive games against Crystal Palace by 2-0 at Stanford Stadium.
Blues were so possessive of the game that Palace had just a shot at the target and the three points earned from the victory pushed them up to trail table leaders, Liverpool, by five points.
Meanwhile, that position will be determined by the derby between Liverpool and Manchester City tomorrow and even the match between Arsenal and Leicester is another game that can snatch the position from Chelsea.
Eagles held the first half of the game to a goalless draw before they came crumbling down after the break with an opener from Tammy Abraham from Willian's pass and Christian Pulisic completed Michy Batshuayi's deflected shot with a header to double the lead in 79th minutes.
After being unable to come close to threaten Chelsea's goal with an equalizer as James Tomlin headed
Luka Milivojevic's cross from the left flang just wide on their first chance to get a goal.
Frank Lampard became the seventh manager to lead the club to seven winning streaks in the league after Alan Pardew since 2012. The former Chelsea and England star player was signed to be the club in summer after a season managerial spell at the EFL Championship side, Derby County.
