Mauricio Pochettino Might Have To Wait For Bayern Munich Move To Materialise
Getting sacked at Tottenham Hotspur might not have necessarily done serious damage to Mauricio Pochettino's reputation considering the interest from Bayern Munich, which also had its manager Niko Kovac sacked to be temporarily replaced by his assistance, Hansi Flick.
Before the advent of Pochettino, Spurs would not have dreamt of making a Champions League Final match appearance neither would they have hope to lift the coveted trophy last season when Liverpool won it for the first time since 2004/05.
Despite reaching that remarkable milestone with the club, the team's performance was an eyesore under his watch this season, resulting in his inevitable dismissal to be replaced by Jose Mourinho who is a three-time winner of the Premier League.
Bayern Munich is presently in the hands of Flick and there appeared to be no interest to relieve him of his position and might even stay longer than January transfer window if the club's executive deemed it right for him.
According to a statement from the club's CEO, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge clarified the club's position on hiring a manager for a permanent role during its annual general meeting.
"I have held talks with Hansi and he told me reporters keep asking him of he will be in charge of the next game. I can say that until further notice he will be in charge at least until Christmas, or maybe even beyond," said Rummenigge.
While Poche waits for a job with the Bundesliga side champions, there are other juicy links from Spain with the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid - both clubs are reportedly hoping to make an offer in summer.
Apparently, the Argentine's dismissal at Spurs does not really seem like one that ended hopeless with no interest, making a Champions League final match appearance a big one in the CV of a manager hoping to return to management.
