Manchester City Report Revenue Growth Of 6.9 Percent
Manchester City did not only have a fantastic run last season when they won a domestic treble, but they also finished the season with a report of 6.9 percent growth in their annual profit.
They EPL trophy defenders have for two seasons in a row posted a revenue increase and as of June 2019, they have recorded a profit of £10.1 million for a 12 calendar month. In effect, that put the club's revenue past the £500million benchmark with a total of £535.2 million for the season just concluded.
"The 2018-19 season was extraordinary - a second consecutive Premier League win, new records broken and an historic haul, in one of the most exciting title races in recent years," said the club's chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak.
Pep Guardiola spent a total of £151.2 million to bring in six new players - Rodri, Joao Cancelo, Pedro Porro, Angelino, Zack Steffen, and Ryotaro Meshino - to his squad in the summer transfer window.
He added, "2018-19 saw an eleventh consecutive year of revenue growth, and that is in part a product of our ongoing investment in football expertise, not just in Manchester but around the world. That investment will remain fundamental to our approach."
City's title defense this season is facing tough challenges with Liverpool racing ahead in pole position with 34 points whilst they trailed in the fourth position with 25 points.
