LeBron James And Anthony Davis Lead L.A Lakers To Claim Seventh Straight Win


LeBron James' triple-double streak got snapped on Friday but combined with Anthony Davis, they both posted up 51 points to lead Los Angeles Lakers past Miami Heats by 95-80 at Staples Centre.

Lakers remain the team to beat in the Western Conference having extended their win streak seven straight games, they improved to 7-1 to top the table. On the other hand, LeBron James has been in superlative form since the start of the season in which he became the oldest to post triple-double in three straight games in NBA history.

There was no stopping of James on the offensive and like Davis, as they both kept the team in the lead over Jimmy Butler-led Heats which could only trail through the stretch of the game in which James recorded his 1000th career 20+ point games.

Leading in the standout was Davis with 26 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists followed by James with 25 points, four rebounds, and six assists on 4-in-7 shots from three-point range and 10-in-19 from the field.

"We are very resilient," James commended Lakers' performance. "That's not common for a team that has only been together a short period of time, but it is a good trait.

James is the third player in NBA history to reach the milestone led by Karl Malone (1,134) and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (1,122). Trailing the Lakers veteran in the list of top five is Kobe Bryant (941) and Michael Jordan (926).

For Heats, Jimmy Butler finished with 22 points, six rebounds, and three assists followed by Goran Dragic with 19 points, six rebounds, and seven assists. Nigerian-American player, Bam Adebayo, posted up 11 points, nine rebounds, and four assists.
