Frozen 2 Debut With $350M Worldwide Gross
It has been disappointing autumn for some films at the box office recording an unimpressive performance on debut but that seemed to have nothing to do with Frozen sequel.
Frozen 2 is a massive success for Walt Disney with a remarkable opening weekend performance of $127 million domestic gross. It did even better in the international market where it recorded a cume of $223.2 million that brought it to a total of $350.2 million worldwide.
Compared to what its predecessor got on opening weekend, the sequel is yet lesser than the first entry but it set a new record for a cartoon film in the global market by breaking the previous record set by Incredibles 2 with $242m.
Besides Sunday when its performance dropped by 29.5%, the computer-adaptation film directed by Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck had hauled in $91.6 million within two days with the biggest oversea contribution coming from China.
