Champion League: Atalanta Held Manchester City To A Draw

Manchester City had a disappointing 1-1 draw with Atalanta which could have at least gone way should Gabriel Jesus converted a penalty. By the way, Kyle Walker had to play in the goal as keeper following the dismissal of Claudio Bravo late into the game.

Just as City had the best of the first half that resulted in Raheem Sterling scoring the opening goal in 7th minutes, the Italian side dominated a good chunk of the second half and it paid off with the equalizer from Mario Pasalic.

Sterling, on many occasions, came close to putting the side ahead but met strong defensive play from the hosts. The closest chance was the penalty he drew and wasted by the Brazilian, Jesus.

Bravo slide tackle on Josip Ilicic got him dismissed but that could have been the wrecking fast break from the Italian which could potentially have been converted.

Nevertheless, City still leads in Group C with five points clear close rivals Shakhtar Donetsk (5 pts) and Atalanta earned their first point from the draw with City.
