Tammy Abraham Chooses To Play For England, Drops Interest In Nigeria Super Eagles
Tammy Abraham has made a decision that will sealed his international football career with England and end any links to joining his native country's national football team, Super Eagles of Nigeria.
There has been strong interest shown by the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, in the Chelsea striker and the president of the federation, Amaju Pinnick has been keen on ensuring the player switch interest to Nigeria despite the fact that he had already made appearances for England in the friendlies.
All that may now be considered to be unsuccessful as Tammy has indicated he is interested in playing for England in the Euro 2020 qualifier match against Czech Republic and Bulgaria, according to a British media outlet The Telegraph.
Pinnick had promised the Camberwell-born player a regular international appearance if he switched interest to Nigeria, an offer he claims the striker might not get from England, which he claimed already has many suitable contenders for the position.
The 21-year-old has since the start of the season scored seven goals for Chelsea and trails Manchester City's Sergio Aguero by just one to be highest scoring English player in the Premier League top flight clubs.
