Rolex Paris Masters: Novak Djokovic Knocks Kyle Edmund Out, Advances To Quarter-finals
Novak Djokovic was faced with the better side of British player Kyle Edmund but the place of experience would come to play to his advantage as he knocked the Briton out.
Though Djokovic won the round of 16 in straight sets, 7-6(7), 6-1 but was put to the test in the opener by the Briton. It was hugely a battle for the Serb to a tiebreak and managed to claim the first set by winning two set points after Kyle rallied from 6-3 to level up.
Kyle picked the first game in the decider and that would be his last as Djokovic won six straight games winning three break points en route the victory - the top-seeded player faced no breakpoints against the 24-year-old.
The 32-year-old is bidding for his second Masters 1000 title of the season and that will extend his ATP Masters Series title to 34th career win and his fifth at the tournament.
He will meet in the quarter-finals Greek player Stefanos Tsitsipas who routed Australia's Alex De Minaur in straight sets, 6-3 6-4 in the third-round match.
