Rihanna Gives Reasons For Turning Down NFL Halftime Show Performance
The NFL halftime show is known to be the biggest entertainment event to many Americans, but Rihanna has no intention to be part of it anyway for a reason that has to do with the dispute between Colin Kaepernick and the league.
Kaepernick was booted out of the league for leading a knee-protest against maltreatments African-Americans receive from the authorities. He has since been out of job for a reason that allegedly has to do with the protest.
Apparently, Riri is taking the same stance as the former quarterback and told Vogue in an interview that accepting to perform in halftime show is what she would not dare for now.
She explained that an acceptance of an offer from the league seemed to her as being a "sellout" and better still an "enabler".
"I couldn't dare that. For What?" she said. "I just couldn't be a sellout. I couldn't be an enabler. There're things within that organization that I do not agree with at all."
At that time, most artists distance themselves from the league's halftime show, eventually, Travis Scot and Post Malone accepted the offer to perform at the show.
