Premier League: Pep Guardiola Is Convinced Manchester City Can Defend Title Against Liverpool

Manchester City's title chase is beginning to get slimmer considering the margin by which they are lagging behind their rivals, Liverpool, who are yet to concede a league match to remain on top of the EPL table.

Wolverhampton shocked the title defenders with a stunning 2-0 home defeat, led by Adama Traore who scored both goals from a fast break inspired by Raul Jimenez. City who had not lost to the side at home in 20 years, watched their fortress crumbling down from the duo's attack.

In spite of trailing Reds by eight points, City manager Pep Guardiola maintained that hope is not lost yet in the bid to defend the title neither has he in his team.

When asked about his team chances to recover, Guardiola expressed his confidence that his men are "Still incredibly involved and they can still do it."

Liverpool who finished last season as runners-up by a point behind City, are now pushing to end their Premier League title drought. More so, they extended their unbeaten run to 16 successive league games with a 2-1 win over Leicester City on Saturday.

Guardiola admitted the point lead is huge and they (Liverpool) have not dropped for many circumstances. However, he maintained, "it is better not to think one team is eight points ahead. It is only October. There are still a lot of games."
