NBA: Clippers Take Big Win Against Lakers On Opening Day

Los Angeles Lakers season opener is not the best their star player LeBron James would hope for as the team dropped the game to city neighbors Clippers by a massive 112-102.

Clippers newly signed Leonard Kawhi opened the season with a massive 30 points with six rebounds and five assists to lead the stats and likewise was Anthony Davis who put up 25 points, 10 rebounds and five assists for his double-double for Lakers on his debut season.

Lakers were impressive from the start until the second quarter when the game fell out of their control as Clippers launched an outright offensive play led by Leonard.

Taking Clippers out of the trail, the former Toronto Raptors forward, Leonard, began to work out his magic midway first half and put their rivals to work. Hence, Lakers dropped behind as Leonard led the side on to take a strong lead and for a 12-point lead by the third quarter.

Lakers' point guard, Danny Green, tried to restore hope notching up three-point shots back-to-back to level with Clippers, but that rally will not last longer than early minutes into the decider as the hosts regained control and moved on to wrap up the game for their first game win.

Clippers head coach Doc Rivers expressed his delight in his newly signed forward and commended him for his leadership role in the game but for Leonard, that was just the first game as he said: "It's going to take the season and mistakes and success to get on the same page."

Danny led the standouts for Lakers with 28 points and seven rebounds and LeBron James 18 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.
