Martin Dubravka Signs New Six-Year Deal With Newcastle United
Newcastle United goalkeeper, Martin Dubravka, has signed a long-term contract of six years with the club - a side he joined permanently after completing a loan move from Sparta Prague.
Confirming his new deal with Magpies, the Slovakia international described his move to the club from the Czech Republic side as one he "enjoyed" and would be glad to even stay much longer.
"It's been almost two years and I've found great people here who I can call friends," the 30-year-old was quoted as saying on the club website. "I've enjoyed my time here and I'm very glad that I can stay here for another six years."
Dubravka made his debut appearance in the club's 1-0 win against Manchester United a month after joining the side on loan and had since completed 59 appearances for the club.
Recognizing his contributions to the team, the North East Football Writers' Association awarded him, Player of the Year award, for 2018 having kept a clean sheet in 17 top-flight appearances.
