Manchester United: Mario Mandzukic Lowers Wage Demands As Juventus Boss Maurizio Sarri Is Open To Discussion
Mario Mandzukic may have just reached the end of his spell at Juventus and has not made any appearance with the club this season as a potential exit to Manchester United becomes obvious by the day.
United are keen on getting a replacement for two exited forwards Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez - both who joined Inter Milan in summer - and the Croatian has been on their priority since then.
They were unable to land a deal with him back then over wages demands from his agent. Now, interest in him has been rekindled following a poor start to the season.
That hindrance between the club and the player may just have changed as it is understood that he has chosen to slash his wages of £300k-per-week at Juventus by half to enable his move to Old Trafford in January transfer window.
According to reports, an insider source revealed that the 33-year-old's reps have contacted the club and also mentioned that they "are willing to change to their demands" on wages for the player.
Juventus' manager Maurizio Sarri also teased about the club readiness to let go of their forward to join United despite having until 2021 in contract with the club.
"Mandzuki is not training with us, in agreement with the club," Sarri said. "If the agreement changes, I am open to everything."
