Manchester United: David de Gea Might Miss Match Against Liverpool For Groin Injury

Manchester United might have to play their next Premier League match against Liverpool without David de Gea following an injury sustained from Spain 1-1 draw with Sweden in the Euro 2020 qualifiers on Tuesday.

Sweden had led the game with an opening goal from Marcus Berg just after the break and Rodrigo came to Spain's rescue with an injury-time goal for an equalizer. By the time Spain equalized, Gea had been substituted for a groin injury he picked up while clearing the ball upfield after he had conceded an opener from Marcus' strike.

The 28-year-old was escorted out of the pitch by the medical team and was replaced by Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga - he started for the team in 1-1 draw against Norway on Saturday.

There has not been any medical statement on the extent of the injury, but United are faced with the reality of having to miss the Spaniard in their match against table leaders, Liverpool on Sunday.

Jurgen Klopp's men are having a perfect start to the season and remained unbeaten in eight league matches to earn 24 points, leading their closest rivals Manchester City, who are the defending champions, by eight points.
