La Liga Wants Venue For Barcelona, Real Madrid Game To Be Moved
Spanish La Liga is pushing for the change of location for Barcelona match against their arch-rivals Real Madrid in Catalan because of the on-going protest in the city.
The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has received an official request from the league but Barcelona are understood not to share that position. La Liga demanded. All matches in the region have already been suspended by the Catalan Football Federation but that does not include Barca.
"Now more than ever, the club asks all political leaders to lead a process of dialogue and negotiate to resolve this conflict," a statement released by Barcelona reads.
The El Clasico is meant to be held at Barcelona Nou Camp Stadium and the request from La Liga is that it be moved to Real Madrid's Bernabeu as protest is still on-going in the city and nine separatists have reportedly been arrested.
Barce went on to state that, "FC Barcelona also expresses all its support to the families of whose are deprived of their freedom.
