Klopp was suggesting that Liverpool are sure of not losing to United to retain its unbeaten run. Reds have won all eight league matches played since the season commenced and are atop the table with five points clear closest rivals, Manchester City.

"I don't there are a lot of teams who would love to play against us at the moment," the German said in a statement of his team which is biding for the first Premier League title since 1989/90.

"It looks like Manchester United is the only team that wants to play us, and we have to make sure that is a misunderstanding. I would do the same if the situation was the other way around."

Liverpool beat Tottenham 2-0 to win the 2018/19 Champions League

After a winless run in three consecutive league matches (D1, L2), United have plummeted to the ninth position in the table and are a point away from relegation zone. Making the matter worse for United, its no. 1 goalkeeper, David de Gea, has been ruled out following a groin injury from the international break. Likewise is Paul Pogba who is out for ankle injury and has been spotted with Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane, in Spain and his rumoured link to the La Liga side has reached another height.

The 52-year-old added is currently enjoying a perfect start with the team he won the Champions League with last season, ending a trophy-drought that since 2004/05 in the continental game.

He explained further that they are aware United is keen on changing their situation but what he intended is "if they want to change it, they start a week later and that's all."
