Jose Mourinho Eyes Tottenham To Return To Premier League


Jose Mourinho is reportedly considering a return to Premier League hoping to join Tottenham Hotspurs and that might mean a potential end to Mauricio Pochettino's job.

A title race for Spurs this season might just be elusive as they have failed to be impressive having recorded W3, L2, D3 to drop down the table outside of the top 4 following an embarrassing 3-0 defeat to Brighton Albion on Saturday.

There are speculations that Pochettino is looking for an exit from Spurs despite having until 2023 when he will run out of contract with the club, which Dailymail claimed the Portuguese deemed fit to be a suitable spot for his return to England.

Besides Mourinho's link to the Spurs, there are speculations that former Juventus manager, Massimiliano Allegro has also been linked to the job as Pochettino continues to come under heavy criticism for his team's poor start to the season.

Allegro, who was in the stadium during the club's 7-2 defeat to Bayern Munich, took a sabbatical leave from the sport last season after leading Juventus to win its fifth successive Italian Serie A title.

There has not been any confirmation of interest in the club from Mourinho neither has is agent been contacting the club should they need his client. However, in July, the 56-year-old in an interview that he is not in a hurry to return to management instead he will be patient for the "right opportunity".

"I have to be patient and wait for the right opportunity," he said.  "And the right opportunity is the one that is at the same size and the same level that I am as a manager. I have to wait for the exact right one."

Mourinho was sacked at Manchester United in December 2018 for the club's poor start to the season. Before then, he had led the side to win UEFA Europa League (2016/17) with two other silverwares (EFL and FA Community Shield).
