Italian Serie A: Romelu Lukaku Extends Goal Tally In Inter Milan's 4-3 Win Over Sassuolo
Romelu Lukaku is making the most of his Italian spell at Inter Milan, extending his goal tally to nine in all league games played since his arrival at the club from Manchester United in summer.
Being instrumental to the Inter's 4-3 away match win over Sassuolo on Sunday, the Belgian he scored twice after Lautaro Martinez's opening goal for the side in two minutes was equalized by Domenico Berardi for the hosts.
The 26-year-old restored Inter's hope of winning their first game after three straight game losses in all competitions by drilling a powerful strike home and converted a penalty on the brink of half time to extend the side's lead by 3-1 and Martinez converted the victory.
Meanwhile, Sassuolo rallied to trim down the lead with goals from Filip Duricic and Jeremie Boga in an effort to equalize but the game would finish in Inter's favour.
"We did everything in the first half and should have scored move in the second. Once it goes to 3-1 and 4-1, it ought to be over," says Lukaku who is currently Inter's top goalscorer with nine goals
Inter clinch their first victory after 2-1 home loss to table leader Juventus who they trail by just a point in second position as contest for table dominance remains close between the two sides.
