EFL Carabao Cup: Marcus Rashford Leads Manchester United To Beat Chelsea


Manchester United have knocked Chelsea out of the EFL Carabao Cup but that required a stunning 30-yard finish from a free-kick by Marcus Rashford to seal the victory by 2-1.

Things are beginning to get better for United whose winless run that had hipped heavy criticism on the manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. They won their first league game against Norwich City by 3-1 on Sunday after four winless run.

That aside, reaching the quarter-finals of the EFL came through Rashford's efforts. First was when he converted a penalty drawn by Daniel James and after Michy Batshuayi equalised in the second half, he delivered a superb finish from a free-kick to secure victory for United.

Chelsea did dominate the game and had better scoring chances especially from Callum Hudson-Odoi who tapped who a cross from Marcos Alonso.

United are now through to the quarter-finals and draws for the stage will be announced on Thursday, October 31.
