Champions League: Raheem Sterling, Kylian Mbappe Net Hat-trick To Seal Victory For Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain

Manchester City claimed a massive 5-1 home win over Italian Serie A side Atalanta with Raheem Sterling netting a hattrick to lead the side through and widen their lead in Group C by five points over closest team Dinamo Zagreb.

Far away in Belgium, Kylian Mbappe was raining down goals on Club Brugge in 5-0 home defeat to Paris Saint-Germain during which the forward scored a hat-trick after Mauro Icardi had led the way with two goals.

Atalanta were first to move ahead in the lead with Rusian Malinovskiy converting a penalty conceded by Fernandinho but City quickly responded with an equalizer from Sergio Aguero, latching onto Sterling's superb cross from the edge of the 18-yard box.

Sterling soon drew a penalty and the Argentine slammed a low cut shot down the bottom right of the post for City's second goal. After the break, it was Sterling's turn and he widened the margin scoring three times - all within eleven minutes - for a hat-trick.

Unfortunately for Atalanta, the loss happened to be the biggest conceded by an Italian to their counterparts in the Premier League since 2010 when Manchester United beat AC Milan by 4-0.

Kylian Mbappe is the youngest player to score 15 goals in the competition

Just as the Italians, Club Brugge started conceding goals from PSG in the seven minutes with Icardi netting the opener by tapping in Angel di Maria's through pass.

Mbappe had scored the second goal with a header inspired by di Maria after an hour of play before Icardi tapped into the goal a through pass from Mbappe to make it a third just two minutes after.

Di Maria completed four assists in a single game setting Mbappe to score the fourth and fifth goals to complete the side victory over the Belgians.

The loss was Club Brugge's first home defeat by five goals in a European Competition for the first time in their history whilst that was PSG's fourth away consecutive victory in the Champions League and their longest in the competition.
