Borussia Dortmund Drop England Starlet Jadon Sancho From Squad
Borussia Dortmund has reportedly dropped English player Jadon Sancho from its squad list for returning to the team late from his international break.
Sancho, who was signed to the Bundesliga side in 2017 from Manchester City, has been in top form this season having a record of three goals with six assists in seven league games.
But, for his manager Lucien Favre, that is not a ticket to late coming from a break and has dropped from the squad list for the league match against Monchengladbach on Saturday.
The 19-year-old winger started for England in 2-1 loss to the Czech Republic but was on the bench as a sub for Raheem Sterling in the second half in racism-laden 6-0 victory over Bulgaria, whose fans' racist attitude has been widely condemned - the national team head coach, Krasimir Balakov, tendered his resignation on Friday.
However, the starlet had previously been dropped for the same offense by the club. which is in the ninth position in the Bundesliga table with 12 points. A victory today will leapfrog Dortmund over Bayern Munich to be third in the table.
