Tiwa Savage Makes Appearance On Time Square Billboard
Nigerian pop singer Tiwa Savage for the first time in her career makes an appearance on the iconic Time Square billboard for her newly released single 49-99.
Stunned by seeing her face on the billboard on the high street of New York, the Lova Lova singer reacted by updating her Instagram page with pictures and clip from the location.
"Delay is not denial...I never gave up pls don't you EVER give up either ❤," she captioned the update.
The song is the 39-year-old's first for Motown Records and its music video has also been released available to stream on every platform.
Speaking Ebro Darden on Power 101.5 Fm in the United States, she mentioned that the title was inspired by late Afro Music legend Fela Kuti, who labelled a popular city transit in Lagos called Molue as 49-99 for its attributes of having 49 seating capacity and room for 99 passengers on standing.
Prior to the release, she joined celebrities who reacted to killings of foreign nationals in South Africa. In condemning the act of xenophobia in that country, she cancelled an already scheduled performance at the DSTV Music Festival in Johannesburg.
