Premier League: Tottenham Share Match Points With Arsenal in 2-2 Draw At Emirates


Arsenal staged a comeback to snatch a much-needed match point off Tottenham from an equalizer by Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang, who completed the rally started off by Alexander Lacazette. 

Spurs had the best part of the first half before Gunners became awakened after going two goals down following a penalty drawn by Son Hueng-min for Granit Xhaka's careless tackle inside the area. 

Spurs opening goal came off Arsenal's goalkeeper Bernd Leno's parry of Erik Lamela's shot, which he saved only for oncoming Christian Eriksen to tap into the goal. Making it complicated, Granit gifted away penalty for bring down Son in the box and Harry Kane converted that for the second goal. 

By the look of it, Arsenal got punished for poor defending combined with careless error and those factors opened the doors to Spurs to dominate until the tune of the game started changing late in the first half.

Arsenal's got back into the game and it paid off with Lacazette pulling one back in on the brink of half time. Hence, Spurs were at the mercy of Gunners charging onward to their goal after the break. 

It paid off eventually when Aubameyang later struck in the equalizer with 20 minutes left to play. Meanwhile, Matteo Guendozi had come close to scoring but Spurs' keeper Hugo Llori stopped the low-cut shot from going in. 

"It was an amazing match. We are proud of our work and our supporters," Arsenal's manager Unai Emery told the BBC Sport. "The key was the first goal to give us confidence and give us more chances in the second half."

Spurs also did had chances in the second half, one was Harry Kane's shot that caught the goal post. Nonetheless, both teams got a point apiece from the match at Emirates and Arsenal moved up to five position with seven points.
