Nick Kyrgios Served Suspended 16-Week Ban, £20,300 Fine For Misconduct In Cincinnati Masters
Nick Kyrgios has been served a suspended 16-week ban and also a £20,300 fine for an unacceptable sportsmanship behaviour in Cincinnati Masters.
The Australian burst into a rage with the umpire during Karen Khachanov en route defeat to the Russian in three sets, 7-6(30, 6-7(4), 2-6. Nick in anger broke two rackets and called the officiating umpire a "tool".
He is reportedly expected to do six-month probation but ban and fines served including another £93, 254 for five separate offences, will come into effect if he breaks any of the governing body's codes that attract fines
At the Italian Open, Nick had an emotional meltdown in the second match against Casper Ruud in the third set and abruptly pulled out following a penalty served by the umpire.
Reacting to the penalty, he clinched his racket and threw a chair on the court and said to the crowd, "I'm done" and left the court in retirement.
