Mario Mandzuki: Juventus Demand £9m From Manchester United For Striker
Manchester United have rekindled their interest in Juventus' forward Mario Mandzuki, who is believed to be available for transfer in January for a fee of £9million as demanded by the Serie A giants.
Mario was strongly linked to United in summer as the player suitable to fill in the gap left off in the frontline on Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez's exit to Inter Milan, but it turned out that the Croatian was not ready to leave his club and could not agree on deal terms with United.
Presently, there is an urgent need for United to resolve issues it is having in the front with Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial ruled out for injuries. Mason Greenwood, though in scoring form, the workload might just be too much for him to keep the team in top-flight in the Premier League and in other competitions.
As pressure continued to buildup on Ole Gunnar Solkjaer, the Norwegian has seen a need to add a new face to the attacking lineup and teased of reconnecting with players he had linked to in summer.
"You don't have to be a rocket scientist to know it's a forward we're going to try to recruit next time...We're looking for some creativity and goals," Solkjaer said.
However, he did not specify the player he will be going after in the next window transfer but hinted that his interest in the ones the club wanted but could not get a deal with.
That for sure indicated Mandzuki, who was believed to join the team on deadline date before talks broken down between them on salary.
It was understood that the 33-year-old is not ready to accept any pay cut on his current salary of £4.5million from he gets £87,000-per-week.
