Liverpool: Jurgen Klopp Dismisses Plans To Leave Over British Weather
It started as a joke but Jurgen Klopp is not having that and has come out to deny any plans with his agent to leave Liverpool over British weather.
Klopp's agent Marc Kosicke was actually the one who during an interview, joked about plans to move his client to another club because of British weather, which has since been taken seriously by the public as a possibility.
"There is nothing in that story. He wanted to make a joke so now I have to be serious," Klopp clarified he had no intentions to leave the club yet.
The 52-year-old was signed to the club from Borussia Dortmund in 2015 and has until 2022 before his contract runs out. Last season, the German for the first time in his career won the Champions League at Liverpool, a season after he had led the team to finish as runners-up.
He added, "Let me spell it out, the weather has never been a reason for me to choose a city and it's certainly not a reason for me to leave the country. "
Klopp led the team to finish the 2018-19 Premier League season in runners-up behind Manchester City and won the UEFA Super Cup in a shoot-out victory over Chelsea for his second title at the club.
Liverpool will be travelling to Italy where they will be hosted Napoli in the Champions League opener on Tuesday. The match will kick off at 20:00 GMT.
