Laver Cup: Alexandra Zverev Beats Milos Raonic To lead Team Europe To Win Title Over Team World

Alexander Zevrev led the way for Team Europe to clinch the victory despite resilience faced against Team World, by beating Milos Raonic in three sets by 6-4, 3-6, 10-4 to seal the victory for the team.

In the double, John Isner and Jack Sock from Team World had fought back from a set down to beat Roger Federer and Stefanos Tsitsipas in three sets, 7-5, 4-6, 8-10, but the Swiss's had beaten John Isner, to reduce the team's deficits and giving them an advantage before Zverev claimed the third victory for the team to lift the trophy.

"It was an unbelievable weekend. They were one or two points away from winning it all," Zevrev said in recall of Federer reducing the Team's deficits from 11-7 to 11-10 against Isner.

He added, "Hopefully many of you will play Laver Cup many times but it was an incredible weekend...I'm super happy and super thankful to Rafa, Roger and the rest of the team. Without them on the bench, I wouldn't have done it."

Rafael Nadal pulled out of the tournament with hand inflammation and was replaced by Dominic Thiem but the Austrian player was beaten in three sets, 7-5, 6-7(3), 5-10 by Team World's Taylor Fritz.
