FIBA World Cup: Argentina Sets Up Final Match Against Spain, Edges France In Semi-finals
Team France's race for first World Cup final appearance ended in the semi-final with a defeat to Team Argentine that is bidding for its first title since 1950 when they become the first country ever to win the competition.
Argentina claimed seventh successive victory in an 80-66 victory over France with former Houston Rockets star Luis Scola putting up a double-double of 28 points, 13 rebounds, and two assists for the team to reach their first final since 2002 - They lost to then Yugoslavia in overtime by 84-77.
Despite Kobe Bryant's support for Team France as he was spotted with the screw on the courtside, the game was well controlled and dominated by the Argentines, who by the fourth quarter had gained a double-figure lead with huge contribution from Luis and Facundo Canpazzo who finished with 12 points, seven rebounds, and six assists.

It was much of a quiet game for Rudy Gobert who led the team to beat Team USA but Frank Ntilikina and Evan Fournier made the most of the game, tying up with 16 points, two rebounds, and two assists apiece on the scoreboard.
"They were just the best team tonight, from the first to the last minutes," said Gobert who picked up a humble three points and 11 rebounds for his lowest performance in the competition.
Argentina will meet Spain in the final in a contest for the World Cup Gold Medal and France will face Australia for the third place and Bronze medal on Sunday.
