Arsene Wenger Regrets Not Signing Jadon Sancho To Arsenal

Jadon Sancho, 19, has established himself as a player any football coach will be interested in to sign into their team and that is what former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger now regretted he failed to accomplish.

At the time Wenger was making attempts to bring the England international to Arsenal, and the winger who is now at Borussia Dortmund was in Manchester City's youth team hoping to be promoted to the senior team.

The Frenchman told the BeIN Sports in an interview, that he did approach Sancho since he is a London-born player but later called off interest for some reasons.

"I wanted to take him from Man City he didn't get the games," Wenger said. "I tried to lure him because he's from London. I tried to get him to Arsenal."

Jadon Sancho now plays for Borussia Dortmund and is valued at £100million

After talks broke down between Wenger and the player, the Bundesliga side succeeded in signing him for a fee in the region of £8million in 2017. Soon after joining the club, he made a debut appearance against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Wenger went on to say, "He's one of the players of his generation. He can dribble, he has the arrogance. There's something in there that is part of the big players. You can call it arrogance, confidence, belief; but it has to be there.

The teenager is now said to worth £100million and has been rated as one of the finest of his generation. At Borussia Dortmund, he has a record of 15 goals in 49 appearances which considered to be huge for a player of his age.
