Ariana Grande Is Suing Forever 21 For £8.3M For Infringements

Ariana Grande has dragged a well-known clothing brand Forever 21, to court over theft of her personality which she claimed the brand used online to promote their products.

The brand crossed the line with Grande by not only using a model that looks almost like her but one that stole her likeness in terms of wearing clothes and hairdo that is very similar.

Besides Forever 21, another clothing brand Riley Rose is also alleged of infringing on the singer's personality to promote their products online. Both companies in many of their posts online have in many dimensions copied from the 'Sweetener' singer without her permission.

One of the many posts online that Ariana Grande claims is a direct copy from her song's music video.

As stated in the legal docs filed against Forever 21 and Riley Rose, her lawyer is demanding for £8 3 million to be paid to her for having "used Ms Grande's name, image, likeness and music to promote their brands and products."

Grande's lawyer went to argue in the lawsuit that the act is "blatant and willful violations of her statutory and common law rights of publicity".  Forever 21 on its part, has through its spokesperson said that they "are hopeful that we will find a mutually agreeable resolution and can continue to work together.

21 brand had approached Grandes for an endorsement deal but talks broke down between the two parties for inability to reach an agreement on what amount is accepted for the deal to be signed to.

Forever 21 is a fast-growing retailer with outreach spread across Europe, Asia and North America. The company is headquartered in Los Angeles, California.
