Universal Pictures Drops First Official Trailer For '1917'


The First World War is one of the most horrific events in history and Sam Mendes has taking  his time to put into motion picture the ordeal faced  by servicemen and how time can determine the fate of a battle.

Universal Pictures released the first official trailer for the film on Thursday and it is expected to be released in December before hitting the big screen at the cinema on January 10, 2020.

Starring Benedict Cumberbatch in the lead role, the two minutes long clip showed how two British soldiers carried out an order that significant change the fate of the battle.

The official synopsis of the film reads," At the height of the First World War, two young British soldiers, Schofield (Captain Fantastic's George MacKay) and Blake (Game of the Thrones' Dean-Charles Chapman) are given a seemingly impossible mission."

"In a race against time  they must cross enemy territory and deliver a message that will stop a deadly attack on hundreds of soldier - Blake's own brother among them."
