UEFA Super Cup: Liverpool Win Silverware In Shoot-Out Win Over Chelsea

Chelsea fought hard but Liverpool came from behind to win the UEFA Super Cup final on penalties that ended 5-4 with goalkeeper Adrian saving Tammy Abraham's spot-kick.

Frank Lampard's team surged ahead in scoring from Olivier Giroud's shot from inside the 18-yard box and soon after the break Sadio Mane finished off a chance created by Robert Firmino to level for Liverpool.

In the extra time, Mane sent in the second goal smashing home a cross from Firmino to put Reds in a comfortable lead but scores leveled when Jorginho converted a penalty conceded by Adrain and send the match into shootouts.

Unfortunately for Chelsea, Adrain lived up to expectations in the absence of Red's Alisson Becker who was ruled out for calf injury and saved Abraham's spot-kick to claim the silverware for his team.

It was a bit of disappointment for Chelsea which came very close to getting a goal earlier into the game from Pedro but his shot from inside the area clipped the crossbar and the VAR ruled Christian Pulisic's goal to be from offside positioning.
