Premier League: VAR Ruins Manchester City Chance Of Beating Tottenham

What a disappointing game it was for Manchester City who had an injury-time goal from Gabriel Jesus ruled out by Visual Assistant Reference and the team finished the game in 2-2 against Tottenham.

Pep Guardiola made serious changes late into the game whilst the scores stayed even, bringing Jesus to substitute Sergio Aguero, David Silva in for Rodrigo Hernandez and Riyad Mahrez for Bernando Silva, that eventually paid off when the Brazilian struck in the ball in 90th+3 minutes but only to be canceled.

Kevin de Bruyne inspired the two goals for City. First, the Belgian delivered a superbly curled cross into Spurs' box for Raheem Sterling to finish with a header and set off Sergio Aguero with a cross to tap home from close range for City's second goal.

Meanwhile, shortly Sterling's opening goal, Erik Lamela responded with a shot from out the box and leveled the scores and Lucas Moura headed in the equalizer following a corner after the break - his first tough on the ball, just seconds after replacing Harry Winks.

Gabriel Jesus injury-time goal was canceled after the ref consulted the VAR

Soon after the equalizer, Spurs recalled to defensive play to walk away with at least a point while Pep unleashed the attacking venom of his rivals and was nearly off to winning from Jesus' late goal but invalidated after the ref consulted the VAR.

For the first time since December 2018, City, the defending champions have not dropped points at home and have remained unbeaten in 24 matches.
