Premier League: Sheffield United Snatch Point Off Chelsea From Late Own Goal

Sheffield United rallied from two goals down and forced a 2-2 draw against Chelsea with a hope-wrecking own-goal from Kurt Zouma dead late into the match.

It could not have been expected that Sheffield would gain momentum in the second half as Blues were already in comfortable lead by two goals from Tammy Abraham who scored his second brace in two consecutive Premier League matches.

Abraham slammed in a rebound from inside the six-yard for the opening goal, when his header bounced off Henderson's catch and back to his reach. He added in the second goal capitalising on a defensive error by Jack O'Connell and John Egan and struck a shot home late in the first half.

Tammy Abraham is the first English player to score twice in two consecutive PL matches for Chelsea since 2010

Just as Sheffield paid dearly for defensive error, Chelsea had themselves to blame for leaving Callum Robinson unmarked in the box and he finished a cross from Enda Stevens.

Kurt Zouma's own goal is the first on record at Stanford Bridge after John Terry 2016. However, he attempted to markdown Lys Moussset whose flick on the ball was deflected into the goal.

Frank Lampard is yet to find the winning rhythm with the team (W1, D2, and L1), nevertheless, the team played favourably well until the second half when tired Blues allowed Blades to get back in the game.

"It was under control, it is our fault for gifting them a goal in the first minutes of the second half. It's a similar story already," Lampard admittedly said.
