Premier League: Manchester United Get A Shocker In First Home Defeat To Crystal Palace In 30 Years

Crystal Palace's winless runs against Manchester United ended in a stunning 2-1 away victory courtesy of Patrick van Aanholt who lashed in the winning goal late in the injury-time.

United wasted a penalty beautiful taking by Marcus Rashford but struck the post to bounce off wide. Mid you Jordan Ayew had put Palace in the lead with an early goal finish in a chance created by a flick back header from Jeffrey Schlupp. 

Before van Aanholt sinker, United had fought through both halves to get an equaliser on the brink of fulltime with a superb curly right-footed shot from Daniel James, who was signed to the team from Swansea City this summer. 

The damage to a should-be a point apiece expectation set off when Christian Benteke wrestled the ball off Paul Pogba in the centre and van Aanholt finished the break with a shot from in the inside after the ball went loose from Wilfred Zaha. 

Rashford's dramatic penalty loss will be the team's second in three matches after Paul Pogba's in a 1-1 draw with Wolverhampton on Monday. 

Poor defending from United gave way to the opener with Ajew who had massive room to himself to run through on the ball with little or no challenge.
