Premier League: Liverpool Take 2-1 Win At Southampton

Adrian continued to live up to expectations in the absence of Alisson Becker as Liverpool won their second match by 2-1 at Southampton with Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino scoring to lead the team to victory.

Before the UEFA Super Cup winners take the lead from Sadio Mane's shot from the edge of the box, Saint did show some resilience and considerable threats from Jan Bednarek's header from close range and Adam Lallana's shot.

Roberto Firmino had first lost a chance to double the lead for Liverpool before he did after Mane set him off with a through pass but the lead was narrowed after Adrian clearance error was hit back into the goal by Danny Ings.

Saint could have got an equalizer late into the game, fortunately for Reds, Ings missed tapping in Yan Valery's cross from close range.

Liverpool would finish the match for their 11th consecutive Premier League match win and Mane's goal was his 20th goal for the team this year.
