Liverpool Rule Out Alisson Becker Of European Super Cup Final
Liverpool will have to bank on another goalkeeper other than Alisson Becker in their match against Chelsea in the European Super Cup final in Istanbul on Wednesday.
Alisson was ruled for an injury which happened when he twisted his left leg in an attempt of a goal kick, just after half an hour of play during Reds' 4-1 away win over Norwich City on Saturday. He was replaced by Spaniard goalie Adrian after being led out of the pitch
Reds' manager Jurgen Klopp did not give details on how long the Brazilian will be out for but he revealed that "it's a calf injury" and confirmed that he "won't be ready for Wednesday".
"From all of my experience, he will not play (in the Super Cup final). He is injured. I cannot say how much until the scan, but he is injured," Klopp said when asked after the match.
A tweeted message from the 26-year-old sounded like he is convinced that he would not be available for the match against Chelsea on Wednesday as he wrote, "Thank you all for the messages! Will be back as soon as possible and stronger!!"
