Inter Milan Sign Romelu Lukaku For £74 Million
Romelu Lukaku is officially an Inter Milan player and has left Manchester United in a club record-signing deal of €80 million (£74m) for five years.
Milan had nearly missed out on the Belgian who posed to join Juventus in a swap deal for Paulo Dybala but United could not finish with the prospective deal for a high fee being requested for by the Argentine and his agent.
The 26-year-old stands to earn about £150,000-a-week from the deal which makes him the third biggest signing to the club after Cristiano Ronaldo (£99m) and Gonzalo Higuain (£75.3m) who was signed after a loan spell at Chelsea under former manager Maurizio Sarri.
"Inter were the only club I wanted," said Lukaku on completing his move to San Siro, "I'm here to bring the Nerazzurri back to the top."
Lukaku joined United from Everton for £75 million in 2017, a deal that was meant to last for five years. In his two-year spell, he racked up 42 goals in 96 appearances winning the FA Cup with the team.
