Cincinnati Masters: Nick Kyrgios Gets £93,000 Fine For Misconduct
Nick Kyrgios' misconduct during his exit from the Cincinnati Masters in three sets loss to Karen Khachanov has landed in huge fine to the tune of £93m ($113m).
The Citi Open champion, in anger en route defeat, cracked two rackets by smashing them on the court after he had called out the umpire who gave him point penalty for his alterance.
Known of the Australian, who also was stormed out of the court in Italian Open after being served penalty, told the umpire on Wednesday that he is a "f**king tool".
Besides getting a fine, the ATP said in a statement that considering taking further action on the Aussie's unsportsmanship conduct after investigating what "happened during and immediately after the match."
Aside from his emotional outburst in Italy, last season in Shanghai, the 24-year-old also ranted at the umpire and was fined $10,000 for hitting the ball out of the court in frustration.
