Cincinnati Masters: Andy Murray Eliminated By Richard Gasquest, Pulled Out Of US Open

Andy Murray's comeback to singles action did not last longer than his first match and has been knocked out of the Cincinnati Masters by France's Richard Gasquest.

Gasquest thrashed the Briton, who was playing his first singles match in 210 days after a surgery in January, in straight sets 6-4  6-4.

Murray played impressively but showed little signs of the impact the surgery has on him and the Frenchman took advantage of that and outshone the former world no.1 saving 4-in-5 break points faced against him.

After the match, Murray revealed he will not be participating at the US Open saying, "I didn't feel I was able to make that decision before today's match."
