Alex Iwobi Leaves Arsenal For Everton In £35 Million Deal

Just on the brink of window deadline, Arsenal's midfielder Alex Iwobi has been signed to Everton in a five-year deal of £35 million.

Confirming the signing, Toffees manager Marco Silva said Nigerian international was top on the club's priority and that signing him is fantastic for the team. Speaking of his quality as a player he said, "He is a direct and skilful winger and attacking midfielder who always works very hard."

Iwobi, who is a product of Arsenal's academy, was signed to the senior team in 2015 and had since made 149 appearances having 15 goals to his name.

Marco added, "He is still young but already with a lot of top-level experience - 100 Premier League matches, more in Europe and many international games."

The Nigerian's exit has been imminent since the club's link to Lille's winger Nicola Pepe before signing him to £72 million deal last week. The arrival of the Ivorian posts threats to Iwobi's position and his regular appearance in the team.
