A$AP Rocky Found Guilty Of Criminal Assault By Swedish Court
Judges handling the case ruled the rapper and his friends to have been in the wrong for the street fight that broke out between the and the victim Mustafa Safari in June. They also ruled that the defendants were also in the wrong in terms of self-defense by the use of bottle during the awful street brawl.
The artist and his friend argued against using a bottle during the fight but Mustafa and the prosecutor accused the Americans of cutting the victim with a bottle during the altercation.
However, since the prosecutor could not prove that Rocky used a bottle during the fight, the judges ruled that although they "were not in a situation where they were entitled to self-defense" but will have to pay restitution to their victim and cover his court expenses.
On June 30, Rocky was held in prison alongside his two friends after turning in to the police station over the street altercation in Stockholm. They all spent the whole of July in prison despite outcries for their released. They were later released after a court hearing on criminal assault charge against them at the court.
Rocky's situation even got to the table of the President of the United States, Mr Donald J. Trump, who ordered his immediate release from prison, which his Swedish counterpart refuted and suggested that his country's legal process should be allowed to take its course as he could not legally interfere in it.
Nonetheless, Rocky will not be doing any community services nor terms in prison for being found guilty neither will his two friends, but their suspended sentence meant they will be paying fees and fines to be in the clear of their offenses in Sweden.
