2019 MTV VMA: Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande Win Big

The MTV VMA may have come and gone but to some of the attendees and celebrities at the event, it was a night to remember - for the artist like Lil Nas X who won his first-ever award at the ceremony.

Taylor Swift opened the night with a stage performance for her song 'You Need To Calm Down', the same for which she received the video of the year award. Not just that, she also received three more awards to share honour domination with Lil Nas X with a total of four awards apiece.

Missy Elliot giving her acceptance speech for Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award 

Missy Elliot stole the show with her stage performance and received standing ovations from the audience for doing her iconic hit songs - Supa Dupa Fly, Get Ur Freak On, Work It and Lose Control. She later was honoured with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.

Cardi B won this year's best hip hop artist and Arianna Grande walked away with three awards amongst which is the artist of the year.
