Zion Williamson, Jordan Footwear Brand Sign Five Year Contract
The 2019-20 NBA season is still two months away and New Orleans Pelicans No. 1 overall pick Zion Williamson is already enjoying an awesome start to his senior professional career.
The former Duke player and Jordan Brand have extended their deal for another five years and Zion who is yet to make his first appearance in the NBA with Pelicans has upset the previous holder of the most lucrative deal, LeBron James.
Announcing his partnership with the footwear brand on Tuesday, the 19-year-old mentioned that he had since his childhood nurse the ambition of making an impact in the sport just like Michael Jordan did.
"Since I was a kid, I had dreamed of making it to the league and having the type of impact on the game Michael Jordan had," he said in a statement "He was one of those special athletes I looked up to and I really can't express how happy and excited I am for this journey."
